On February 22nd, LIONESS played before an audience of 500 plus VA and military healthcare providers at the Joint Defense Audiology Conference in Orlando, FL. At the invitation of Col. Vickie L. Tuten, Army Staff Officer with the Office of the Surgeon General, Shannon Morgan and Rebecca Nava were on hand to talk about their experiences and the obstacles they faced getting care. Rebecca shared her ongoing struggle to get her hearing aid covered by the VA. The discussion was moderated by VA Audiologist Scott C. Forbes.
